Another Way to Interact

While RCC members have a great opportunity each month to learn during our professional development webinars, sometimes a more casual conversation might be what’s needed. There are many topics that lean toward more sharing info and best practices instead of the presentation-style session.
That’s why we offer Third Thursday Talk – casual Zoom meetings, designed as an interactive conversation among members with a designated topic each session.
Reserve your calendar for the third Thursday of each month, usually from 1 -2 pm ET. Zoom details will be shared here and through the monthly newsletter and social media.
Coming up: July 16, 1 p.m. ET – Rethinking Your Newsletter
Newsletters are still one of the most powerful tools we have for reaching, informing, and engaging our audiences—but only if they’re done well. Join us in July for our Third Thursday Talk as we take a fresh look at how to make your newsletters more readable, relevant, and effective for the communities you serve.
In this informal, practical session, RCC members will share real-world examples, success stories, and lessons learned about:
-
Clarifying the purpose of your newsletter
-
Choosing and organizing content that people actually want to read
-
Designing for readability (subject lines, layout, length, and visuals)
-
Strengthening connections with your faith community and beyond
Whether you’re a seasoned communicator or newly responsible for your organization’s email or print newsletter, you’ll pick up ideas you can apply right away.
Future Topics:
- August 20, 1 p.m. ET – internal communications
- Sept 17, 1 p.m. ET – honing your writing and editing skills
- Oct 15, 1 p.m. ET – evaluation of communication campaigns and projects
- Nov 19, 1 p.m. ET – communication to support development efforts
