Dear RCC members,

The DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards entries are open! We are excited to celebrate your accomplishments and hard work!

As Ryan Koch, DeRose-Hinkhouse chair shared,

“Last year, the 2019 awards surpassed my expectations. Although we had a multitude of entries from a multitude of religions and faith backgrounds, the caliber across the board continued to exceed expectations. I am consistently awed by the quality and personal dedication of the RCC members. You strive for perfection, and often attain it. I encourage all members to submit their work for the 2020 DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards, not only so that you can receive recognition for your hard work, but so that I, and the rest of the RCC board, membership, and all Congress participants, can be inspired and improve our own communications efforts!”

As you look back over the past year, think about the great work you have done this past year and enter it for an award:

  • What projects are you most proud of?
  • What resources did you design that were really helpful?
  • What was your most creative, innovative communications tool of 2019?

The 2020 awards are bringing two major changes:

Last year we began accepting electronic submissions! This was beneficial in a number of ways. Not only did it save on paper and shipping costs, but we were able to literally gather judges from around the world. It made the judging process smoother, and there was far less room for error!

This year, therefore, we are requiring that applicants submit their entries electronically (with the exception of books in Category D!).

The second major change concerns eligibility. Because of Congress 2020, we are opening the awards to non-RCC members. We’re hoping that this will increase the sharing of best practices with other organizations, showcase the work of our great members, and eventually lead to a larger membership. The pricing for entries will be as follows:

  • Membership: $110
  • Member Submission: $50
  • Non-member Submission: $120

We would still encourage you to continue your membership, however, especially if you are submitting two or more entries!

For award categories and to enter online, visit the DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards page.

The DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards ceremony will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, in connection with the RCC business meeting.

Enter now to avoid the January rush. The deadline is January 17.

We look forward to seeing your entries soon!
